In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 0.22 percent in the first half of the day, dropping to 8,774.61 points. Showing a downward trend in the first half, the BIST 100 index fell to 8,774.61 points with a decrease of 18.99 points compared to the previous close as of 13:00. The total trading volume was 25.2 billion Turkish liras. The banking index lost 0.18 percent, while the holding index lost 0.17 percent. Among the sector indices, mining gained the most with 1.41 percent, while the investment trust experienced the highest decline with 2.31 percent. Despite expectations that the US economy could experience a “soft landing” and China reducing its credit interest rates, global markets showed a mixed trend at the start of the week. Analysts mentioned that today, the leading indicators index in the US will be closely monitored, noting that technically, 8,710 and 8,650 points are support levels in the BIST 100 index, with 9,000 and 9,200 levels acting as resistance.
