The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul completed the day with a 1.99% loss, ending at 8,699.19 points. Compared to the previous closing, the BIST 100 index decreased by 177.03 points, with a total trading volume of 67.5 billion Turkish lira. The banking index lost 1.85%, while the holding index lost 1.96% in value. Among the sector indices, the only gainer was the securities investment partnership with a 0.53% increase, while the insurance sector was the biggest loser with a 3.91% decline. Globally, expectations of a soft landing for the US economy and positive developments in China following the statements by the Chinese Finance Minister over the weekend are impacting the markets. Analysts point out that tomorrow, the domestic budget balance, industrial production and capacity utilization rates in Japan, retail sales and Zew economic sentiment index in Germany, unemployment rate in the UK, industrial production and Zew economic sentiment index in the Eurozone, and the New York Fed manufacturing index in the US will be closely monitored. From a technical standpoint, analysts note that the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 8,650 and 8,600 points, while the resistance levels are at 8,900 and 9,000 levels.
