2 Mins Read

As part of its strategy to expand its presence in the audiobook area, Spotify has announced an innovative program for independent authors. This program aims to help authors reach a global audience by transforming their written works into audiobook format.

Under the newly launched program, authors can submit their short stories that meet specific criteria to Spotify. These stories will be included in the platform’s growing audiobook library after the production process. Spotify will make advance and royalty agreements with authors for the accepted works. The focus genres initially set for the program include romance, mystery/thriller, and science fiction/fantasy. Contents aimed at children and erotic stories will not be accepted. This move demonstrates Spotify’s vision that extends beyond music and podcasting, aiming to have a stronger presence in the audiobook market. The company values such initiatives to help independent authors showcase their voices and provide listeners with a wider range of content.

This program offers an exciting opportunity for authors producing short and innovative stories. It also aims to increase interest in the audiobook world by delivering quality content to the audience.

INDEPENDENT AUTHORS’ CONTENT WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED Spotify’s audiobook library is becoming a remarkable platform in terms of diversity and accessibility. The platform not only limits itself to popular works but also supports independent authors’ content, offering listeners a wide range of options.

Users can find works of all genres, from classic literature to modern science fiction, thrilling stories, and personal development books. This rich content caters to different tastes and utilizes Spotify’s global reach to reach a wider audience. This not only benefits consumers but also presents a significant opportunity for content creators. By combining technology with literature, Spotify seems to bring the listening experience to a whole new level.

The company offers the audiobook service to all Premium subscription plan members. However, there is a monthly 15-hour listening limit. Once you reach the 15-hour limit, your rights will be renewed the following month, allowing you to continue listening from where you left off.
