Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek reported that the economic cooperation meeting between Turkey and the European Union (EU) took place in a very constructive atmosphere. Regarding the meeting held in Brussels, Mehmet Şimşek shared that there was a consensus on developing economic relations and increasing cooperation in all areas with the EU. Minister Şimşek used the following statement on social media: “After a gap of 6 years, we held the Turkey-European Union High-Level Economic Dialogue meeting today in Brussels in a very constructive atmosphere. In our productive meetings with our EU counterparts, there was a consensus on developing economic relations and increasing cooperation in all areas. In addition, the modernization of the Customs Union and visa facilitation were discussed. The deepening of relations with European-based international financial institutions was also considered. It was decided that the next High-Level Economic Dialogue meeting between Turkey and the EU will be held in our country.”
