In the United States, where the presidential term is limited to two terms by the constitution, President Donald Trump has hinted at a third term. Trump stated, “Many people want me to do this,” emphasizing that he is not joking and saying, “There are ways to achieve this.”

During an interview with NBC News, President Trump shared his views on the debates surrounding a third presidential term. While Trump underlined that it is still early to speak clearly on the matter, he expressed in clear terms that he is open to another presidential term. Responding to a question about extending the presidency beyond the two terms prescribed by the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution, Trump said, “Many people want me to do this, but I tell them that we have a long way ahead of us, and I remind them that we are still very early in the administration.”

Trump made some of his most comprehensive comments to date on serving a third term, stating, “Right now, I’m focused on today. I love working.” When asked if he wanted to serve another term, he stated, “I’m not joking about this, but it’s too early to think about that.”

When asked if any plans had been presented to him that would allow him to run for a third term, Trump replied, “There are ways to achieve this.” Regarding a possible scenario where Vice President JD Vance would run and then hand over the presidency to Trump, Trump answered, “That could be one method, but there are other methods as well.”
