American and British citizens Andrew and Tristan Tate, brothers, have returned from Florida to the capital of Romania, Bucharest. The duo facing accusations stated that they want to clear their names.
Known for their misogynistic views and banned from social media platforms, Andrew Tate along with his brother Tristan have returned to Romania. The Tate brothers made statements regarding the ongoing investigation against them.
During a press briefing in Bucharest, Andrew Tate stated, “Innocent individuals don’t flee. We came here to prove our innocence and clear our names.” Tate emphasized that after facing difficulties, they deserve to stand trial and stated, “We deserve a trial where it will be seen that we haven’t done anything wrong and we shouldn’t have been in a courtroom in the first place.” THEY DENIED ALL ALLEGATIONS Tate brothers were arrested in 2022 on charges of human trafficking, rape, setting up a prostitution network, and money laundering, and have been under house arrest in Romania for three years. However, after Romania lifted their travel bans, they flew to Florida on February 28th. Andrew Tate dismissed the allegations as “nonsense” and shared a photo taken with his brother on the plane on his social media account, stating, “We spent $185,000 on a private jet to cross the Atlantic and sign a paper in Romania.” On March 4th, Florida Attorney James Uthmeier announced that legal action had been taken against Andrew and Tristan Tate. The prosecutor claimed that the Tate brothers were luring women into a prostitution ring. Reacting to this, Andrew Tate said, “The U.S. has greatly disappointed me.”
REGULAR CHECK-INS IN STORE Romania’s decision to allow the brothers to travel to the U.S. while the investigation continues sparked intense debate. Financial Times argued that U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell pressured Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at the Munich Security Conference. However, Hurezeanu denied these allegations. According to CNN, Andrew and Tristan Tate will regularly report to the Romanian police. The next police check-in is said to take place on March 24th.
