Machinery and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) will make a defense industry investment of 2 billion lira in Samsun. It was reported that MKE General Manager Ilhami Keleş and Deputy General Manager İrfan Özsert visited Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı in his office. Keleş mentioned that MKE has started the establishment of a factory in the former Çarşamba Sugar Factory in Samsun, where they will produce in the defense industry field with an investment of 2 billion lira. Governor Tavlı expressed that MKE produces strategic products needed by the Turkish Armed Forces with local resources. Tavlı expressed his satisfaction with the start of the construction of the Çarşamba Production Campus by MKE, saying, “This significant investment, which will strengthen our independence and enable us to walk towards the future stronger, will contribute significantly to the power of Samsun, which contributes to the Turkey Century with its developing industry, growing economy, young and talented workforce, and investment, production, employment, and export-oriented growth strategy. The MKE investment will give great momentum to the Samsun Century.”
