Russia’s Heart Under Intense Attack from Ukraine: 1 Person Killed

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched the most intense attack on Russia’s capital, Moscow, since the beginning of the Ukraine conflict. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 337 UAVs belonging to Ukraine were shot down over Russian territory at night. While one person lost their life in the attacks, initial photos from the region revealed the extent of the destruction.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced on social media that intense UAV attacks were carried out in the capital throughout the night. Sobyanin stated that a total of 69 UAVs were brought down in Moscow and its vicinity, causing damage to some buildings. Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyev shared information that one person was killed and three others were injured due to the attacks.

Footage in the Russian media shows fires breaking out in an apartment building and a detached house in Moscow that were targeted by the UAV attacks. Flight operations at all airports in Moscow were disrupted.

The Russian Defense Ministry disclosed that 337 UAVs belonging to Ukraine were shot down over Russian territory. The Ministry stated that the Ukrainian army conducted attacks with UAVs on Russian soil throughout the night. According to the announcement, Russian air defense systems downed 337 UAVs, with 91 in Moscow, 126 in Kursk, 38 in Bryansk, 25 in Belgorod, 22 in Ryazan, and 10 in Kaluga regions.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that the UAV attacks, which started at night, were still ongoing.
