Mark Eydelshteyn, the Russian actor of the Oscar-winning film “Anora,” is accused of violating Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The 23-year-old actor has been included in the database called “Mirotvorets,” which lists individuals considered threats to Ukraine.

Mark Eydelshteyn, known worldwide for his role in the film “Anora” that made a mark at the Oscars, is facing challenging times. The 23-year-old actor is being accused of violating Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Eydelshteyn was added to the “Mirotvorets” database, which includes names of individuals posing threats to Ukraine’s national security. According to reports in the Russian media, Eydelshteyn was listed due to deliberately violating Ukraine’s state border by repeatedly visiting Crimea. His role in the 2022 film “Sasha’s Country,” filmed in Crimea, contributed to his inclusion in the list. The film also positioned Eydelshteyn as one of the country’s top actors.

Eydelshteyn’s co-star in “Anora,” Russian actor Yura Borisov, had previously been on the same list for similar reasons. Established in 2014, “Mirotvorets” has faced controversy before, with some individuals on the list having suspicious deaths, leading to the list being dubbed a “death list.” While the website is not directly affiliated with the Ukrainian government, it includes names of individuals accused of collaborating with Russia or participating in pro-Russian separatist movements.
