Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the underlying reasons created by Western countries for the resolution of the Ukraine crisis will be addressed. Additionally, he disclosed that trade between Russia and Vietnam has increased, with collaborative projects in progress.
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, declared that they are committed to eliminating the root causes of the Ukraine crisis, stating, “These reasons were deliberately created by Western countries governing Kiev.” Lavrov met with the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son in Moscow, the capital of Russia. Following their discussions, the two ministers held a press conference. During the meeting, Lavrov highlighted the relations between Russia and Vietnam, noting, “Our joint efforts led to a 20% increase in bilateral trade volume last year, reaching approximately 6 billion dollars.” He mentioned that they have carried out joint projects in the oil and gas sectors with Vietnam, and Russia is ready to participate in the construction process of the “Ninh Thuan 1” nuclear power plant in Vietnam. Lavrov stated that Moscow and Hanoi will continue their efforts to protect economic relations from illegal sanctions imposed by the West. Addressing the Ukraine crisis, Lavrov said, “We will strive for the resolution of the Ukraine issue by eliminating the underlying reasons. These reasons were deliberately created by Western countries governing Kiev.” Minister Lavrov expressed gratitude to Vietnam for pursuing a balanced policy on Ukraine. “ISSUES SHOULD BE RESOLVED IN A PEACEFUL MANNER” Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Bui stated that they will continue efforts to eliminate difficulties in relations with Russia. Emphasizing that issues should be resolved peacefully in accordance with the United Nations’ decisions, Bui used phrases such as, “We support a comprehensive, transparent, fair, and multilateral international relations system and architecture in the Asia-Pacific region.”
