The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine has launched attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, allegedly violating the agreement reached with the US.
In a written statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was stated that Ukraine conducted drone attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in Bryansk, Rostov, and Voronej regions of Russia, as well as in Crimea annexed by Russia in the past 24 hours. The statement pointed out that as a result of the attacks, natural gas pipelines were damaged, and some areas experienced power outages. The statement mentioned that ever since Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced his commitment to stop attacks on energy infrastructure as of March 18, Russia’s energy infrastructure has been under attack.
30-DAY AGREEMENT REACHED After a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 18, it was announced that Russia and Ukraine had reached an agreement to halt attacks on energy infrastructure facilities for 30 days. The Kremlin stated that as part of the agreement with the US, attacks on facilities such as oil refineries and energy pipelines in Russia and Ukraine would cease.
