Officials in Kiev have announced that 14 people, including 5 children, were killed in Russian bombardments targeting the cities of Dobropillia and Kharkiv in Ukraine. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine stated today that at least 11 people, including 5 children, were killed and 30 injured in missile and drone attacks launched by Russia on the city of Dobropillia in eastern Ukraine. The Ministry also added that 3 civilians were killed in a drone strike in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
In the statement, it was mentioned that Russian forces attacked Dobropillia with ballistic missiles, multiple rockets, and drones, causing damage to an eight-story building and 30 vehicles. The Ministry said in a Telegram message, “While the fire was being extinguished, the occupiers attacked again and damaged a fire truck.” Officials also shared photos showing partially collapsed buildings engulfed in flames, with rescue teams clearing rubble from the structures.
Before the war, Dobropillia, which was home to about 28,000 people, is located 22 kilometers from the front line to the north of Donetsk, an important center in Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. Pokrovsk, a place under attack by Russian forces for weeks, is also in this region. The Ministry further stated that at least 3 people were killed and 7 injured in a separate drone attack on the Kharkiv region overnight. The Ukrainian army stated that Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and 145 drones at Ukraine during the night.
