The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that they have taken control of the Ostrovskoye settlement in Donetsk. It was also indicated that 43 Ukrainian soldiers were captured during the same period.
A statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense provided information on the activities of the Russian army in the Russia-Ukraine War from October 5 to 11. The statement mentioned attacks against Ukrainian elements with hypersonic “Kinjal” missiles, high-precision weapons, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the past week, targeting points where petroleum, gas, energy facilities, military airport infrastructure, UAV and unmanned naval vehicles are produced and stored, fuel and ammunition depots, as well as locations where Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries are temporarily stationed. The statement stated that the Russian army continues to advance on the front lines, with the Ostrovskoye settlement in the Donetsk People’s Republic being liberated by Russian forces.
43 UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS CAPTURED At the same time, it was reported that 43 Ukrainian soldiers were captured during the mentioned period. The statement recorded the following: “Since the beginning of the military operation, 646 planes, 283 helicopters, 33,419 UAVs, 582 air defense missile systems, 18,607 tanks and armored vehicles, 1,470 multiple rocket launchers, 15,988 howitzers and mortar launchers, and 27,145 special military vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian army have been destroyed.” The Ministry’s statement also mentioned that the Ukrainian army lost 21,900 soldiers, 144 tanks, 69 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, and 897 armored vehicles towards the Kursk direction since August 6.
