The armed wing of Hamas, the Izzeddin El-Kassam Brigades, carried out a rocket attack on the city of Ashdod, located within the Israeli occupation around the Gaza Strip. In a written statement issued by the El-Kassam Brigades, it was noted that the attack was in response to Israel targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip. The statement did not provide information on the number of rockets used or the extent of the damage caused. The Israeli military reported that 10 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip, with 5 of them being intercepted and the remaining 5 hitting different areas. Channel 12 TV reported that sirens sounded in the Shifla area south of Ashdod, Ashkelon, and Tel Aviv. Israel Hayom newspaper stated that one of the rockets hit Ashkelon directly, injuring one person who was taken to the hospital. The report mentioned that there was material damage in the area but fortunately, no fatalities occurred.
