According to ABC News, hackers attacked pets and cursed homeowners using the cameras, speakers, and remote control systems of these robots.
Daniel Swenson, a US lawyer whose robot vacuum was hacked, mentioned that while watching TV, his vacuum suddenly started working and he heard strange noises from its speaker. Swenson noticed that his vacuum had been hacked, reset the password, and shortly after, the robot vacuum started moving again and began spewing racist slurs from its speaker.
