Retail sales accelerated in August. Sales increased by 2.2 percent on a monthly basis. Trade sales volume also rose by 2.9 percent. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the trade sales volume index for August. Accordingly, trade sales volume increased by 2.9 percent compared to the previous month. During this period, the sales volume for wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, as well as their repair, increased by 1.8 percent, wholesale trade sales volume by 3.5 percent, and retail trade sales volume by 2.2 percent. Trade sales volume in August recorded a 5.3 percent increase compared to the same month last year. In the same period, sales volume for wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, as well as their repair, decreased by 1 percent, wholesale trade sales volume increased by 3.1 percent, and retail trade sales volume increased by 13.3 percent.
