1 Mins Read

Reports on an online platform reveal that incidents of sexual abuse and harassment have occurred in 1664 primary schools in the UK.

Cases of sexual abuse and harassment have been reported in 1664 primary schools across the UK.

Children and adults shared their testimonies via a website calling for age-appropriate sexual education for children under the age of 9, as well as survivors. According to The Guardian, incidents of sexual harassment, misconduct, inappropriate touching, and even forced penetration were reported anonymously on the “everyonesinvited.uk” site.

At least one testimony emerged regarding an incident when the victim was five years old.

The website highlighted that schools listed under the “Everyone’s Invited” primary school list were present due to reports of both historical and recent abuse. Sophie Lennox, a spokesperson for the website, stated, “The majority of our testimonies come from individuals recalling past experiences.”

Lennox added, “However, we also have anecdotal evidence of children under five submitting their stories to our website with the help of child therapists or parents.”
