The Public Payment Gateway system, where the collection of payments for nearly 200 institutions is conducted through e-Government, has been renewed. The Banks Association of Turkey (BAT) stated that the Public Payment Gateway infrastructure, which enables public institutions to receive payments via card on e-Government quickly and securely, has been updated. With the new infrastructure, direct integration with BAT has been established for public service-providing institutions. The statement mentioned that this eliminates the possibility of technical glitches in citizens’ payments, making payments easier for them, while also providing efficiency and cost savings for public institutions. The system includes important institutions such as the Social Security Institution (SSI), Revenue Administration (RA), General Directorate of Highways – OGS, General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, Museum Card, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, highway companies, municipalities, and their subsidiaries. Recently, organizations working for public benefit such as the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, Turkish Red Crescent, and the Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation have been included. The statement also shared that 180 different institutions will continue to receive payments online through this infrastructure.
