1 Mins Read

In Germany, the revenues of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 football teams reached a record of 5.87 billion euros in the 2023-2024 season, representing a 12% increase. The total revenues of clubs competing in the German First Football League, Bundesliga, were revealed for the 2023-2024 season. The German professional football continues its growth trend by achieving record figures in revenue, taxes and duties, employment, and audience numbers. The revenue of 36 clubs in the leagues in the 2023-2024 season increased by 12% compared to the previous season, reaching 5.87 billion euros. The previous record was broken in the 2022-2023 season with 5.24 billion euros. It was notable that German Second Football League (Bundesliga 2) clubs exceeded the 1 billion euro revenue threshold for the first time. Only 9 clubs in the first league and 8 in the second league were profitable in the 2023-2024 season. A separate record was set in the same season with 62 thousand people being employed through clubs. As a result, 1.66 billion euros were transferred to the state treasury through taxes and duties. The increasing interest of spectators contributed to clubs’ ticket sales figures, with 20.7 million tickets sold last season, setting a new record.
