The number of real estate sales throughout Turkey reached 694,628 in the January-March period, breaking the all-time first-quarter record. All real estate sales, including residential properties, land, commercial properties, and more, started the new year strong and continued this momentum in February and March. In January, real estate sales increased by 20.2% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 238,938, while February sales rose by 7% to 232,756. However, this figure decreased by 0.8% last month, dropping to 222,934. When looking at the first quarter as a whole, all real estate sales increased by 8.3%, reaching 694,628. This number marks the highest January-March data of all time. The previous highest first-quarter data was seen in 2023 with 683,399 sales. The number of transactions in land registries approached 5 million in the January-March period. Approximately 695,000 of these were sales, 344,000 were mortgages, 106,000 were transfers, 36,000 were corrections, 17,000 were expropriations, nearly 15,000 were separations, 7,300 were mergers, and 6,400 were donations. Other transactions exceeded 3.5 million. The revenue from fees collected from transactions carried out at the land registry during this period increased by 72.5%, reaching 28,832 million Turkish lira.
