Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko, in a Facebook post, said, “Russia is trying to cause the most harm to ordinary Ukrainians by bombing energy and gas production facilities without giving up on leaving us without electricity and heating.” Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov shared on Telegram that eight people, including a woman rescued alive from the rubble, were injured in the attack.
“At the site of the impact, a fire broke out. A nearby apartment building also suffered damage,” Terekhov said, adding that the building’s residents were evacuated. Terekhov later mentioned that a critical infrastructure building was also damaged. Kharkiv Governor Oleg Synegubov, in a statement on Telegram, noted that the Russian attack hit a private company and vehicles caught fire.
Synegubov added, “A 65-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were taken to the hospital.” Late last night, Ukraine’s emergency service reported an attack in the southern Odessa region, causing damage to critical infrastructure but no injuries.Odessa Governor Vyacheslav Negoda said that missiles from Russia also struck a significant industrial facility in the Ternopil region overnight.
“Air defense forces shot down an enemy missile,” Negoda said, noting there were no reported casualties and potential restrictions on gas supply. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for a ceasefire in the air and at sea following Russia’s attack last night.
Zelensky urged allies to press Russia to end the war.
