The Ministry of Treasury and Finance responded to the allegations made by the Leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Özgür Özel, targeting Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek during his party’s convention.

During his speech at the party’s congress, CHP Leader Özgür Özel had made allegations against Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek. The statement emphasized that these claims were unfounded and that the reports prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) were not known to the ministry beforehand. The statement also mentioned that in his speech at the convention, Özgür Özel once again targeted Minister Şimşek with baseless accusations, stating, “As repeatedly mentioned, the information provided to judicial authorities by MASAK is not within the knowledge or approval of the Ministry. In this process, there is no possibility of Minister’s prior knowledge or intervention. We strongly reject and condemn the persistent and false accusations against our Minister. Legal action will be taken regarding the defamation and groundless accusations aimed at tarnishing the reputation of our Minister. Respectfully announced to the public.”
