In Myanmar, the two earthquakes of 7.7 and 6.4 magnitudes have resulted in a death toll of 1,700 and 3,400 injuries. In Thailand, where the earthquake was strongly felt, local disaster management officials reported that the number of deaths in the capital Bangkok has reached 17, with 32 injured and 83 still missing. Rescue teams are continuing their search and rescue operations in the collapsed high-rise building.
International rescue teams from different countries have also arrived in the region to support the search and rescue efforts.
