During the meeting between Venezuelan leader Maduro and Russian President Putin, an agreement was reached to expand energy cooperation.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin via video conference. According to reports in the national press, the two leaders agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in many areas, including the energy sector. Putin stated that the relationship between Russia and Venezuela had reached the level of a strategic partnership and said, “We have reached full agreement on strategic partnership and cooperation. This agreement will provide a solid foundation for further enhancing our bilateral relations. I would be happy to see you in Russia for the celebrations of Victory Day on May 9.”
Maduro also expressed his satisfaction, saying, “We are enhancing our relations in various sectors, especially in the energy field, and strengthening our ties. I will be pleased to see you again in Russia.”
