Following the agreement reached between the new government in Syria and the SDG, joyous celebrations were held. Large crowds poured into the streets in the capital city of Damascus and the northeastern city of Qamishli. The agreement between the new government in Syria and the SDG, which is mainly made up of the Syrian branch of the PKK, the YPG, brought about celebrations. Crowds filled the streets in Damascus and Qamishli. The celebrations in Damascus took place at Umayyad Square.

Syrians in convoys took to the streets in their cars, celebrating the agreement with great enthusiasm. Dances were performed, songs were sung in the square. Similar scenes were captured by cameras in Qamishli in northeastern Syria.

Local residents chanting slogans like “Syrian people are one” gave full support to the agreement. With the agreement, the SDG agreed to integrate with the new state institutions in Syria.

The 8-point agreement also includes the complete cessation of conflicts in Syrian territories.
