Following the agreement reached between the new government in Syria and the SDG, joyous celebrations were held. Large crowds poured into the streets in the capital city of Damascus and the northeastern city of Qamishli. Syrians in convoys took to the streets in their cars, celebrating the agreement with great enthusiasm. Dances were performed, songs were sung in the square. Similar scenes were captured by cameras in Qamishli in northeastern Syria.
Local residents chanting slogans like “Syrian people are one” gave full support to the agreement. With the agreement, the SDG agreed to integrate with the new state institutions in Syria.
The 8-point agreement also includes the complete cessation of conflicts in Syrian territories.
