In Muğla, Aydın Demirhan established a textile workshop with the support of the state two years ago, with an investment of approximately 10 million Turkish Liras, providing employment to 80 women in the facility. Located in the Gülağzı area of the Menteşe district of Muğla, the workshop produces products made entirely of organic and recycled fibers, which are exported to European countries. Aydın Demirhan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, stated that they started looking for a business premises and warehouse in Muğla for investment purposes in 2022, and after finding a suitable location, they began investing. Describing their venture with the Investment Incentive Certificate of the Ministry of Trade, Demirhan mentioned that they carry out sewing, ironing, and packaging operations in the facility they established. Highlighting the use of organic and recycled fibers for the environment, Demirhan said, “We export almost all of the products to Europe. We can say that the main countries are Germany, England, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden.” Demirhan expressed that their biggest goal is to bring women’s labor and workforce into the economy successfully, indicating that 90% of the employees are women. Demirhan stated that the contribution of women to the workforce makes them very happy, saying, “Because we know the power of women who truly have economic power. They can stand strong and economically stable.” Production line supervisor Damla Girenis said she tries to help her colleagues as much as possible. Girenis, who has been working in the facility for two years, stated, “Fabrics are delivered to us already cut. Each person has different tasks from the beginning of the line. At the end of the line, the work is completed. We all work together here as women, contributing to our family economy.”
