In the Eurozone, producer prices remained below expectations in February, with a 0.2% increase. The highest increase, at 9.5%, was recorded in Estonia. Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), released the Producer Price Index (PPI) data for the EU and the Eurozone in February. According to the data, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in the EU rose by 0.3% compared to the previous month and by 3.1% compared to the same month last year. In the Eurozone, the PPI increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month and by 3% compared to the same month last year. Market expectations were for a monthly increase of 0.3% in the Eurozone PPI. Among EU countries, the PPI increased the most on a monthly basis in February by 9.5% in Estonia, 4.8% in Romania, and 2.5% in Bulgaria. In February, the monthly PPI decreased by 4.9% in Ireland, 0.8% in France and Slovakia, and 0.5% in Slovenia. On an annual basis in February, the PPI increased by 19% in Bulgaria, 12.8% in Ireland, and 12.7% in Estonia, while it decreased by 5.6% in Luxembourg, 1.5% in Lithuania, and 1.4% in France.
