The Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Area in the Nallıhan district of Ankara was won by Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Inc. for a price of 20 billion lira in the auction.
Since November 20, 2024, when the workers have been protesting, the Çayırhan Thermal Power Plant and Mining Area have been privatized.
Five companies participated in the auction conducted by the Privatization Administration. In the first round conducted through closed bid, the highest bid was 13 billion 50 million lira.
During the second round, which also took place through closed bid, the company with the lowest bid was eliminated.
Starting with an auction price of 15 billion 600 million lira, the auction was won by Akçadağ Construction Energy Mining Inc. for 20 billion lira.
The chairman of the company, Furkan Akçadağ, stated, “We have committed to ensuring the employment continuity of all our colleagues there and even increasing the number of employees.”
