Oktay Ertürk, a fisherman in Zonguldak, mentioned a decrease in fish prices as the season comes to an end. Due to abundance, Ertürk stated that they are selling whiting fish for 100 liras.

Fisherman Ertürk reported that whiting fishing is ongoing and the price per kilogram has dropped to 100 liras. He said, “Still affordable. We sell horse mackerel for 70 liras and beaked salmon for 150 liras. There is currently a price drop for whiting fish. This situation will continue for another 10-15 days and then the season will close.” Ertürk stated that they closed this year’s season with reasonable prices, adding, “We are thankful for this year’s season. We fed the people with free fish this year, and we will provide affordable fish next year as well.” Fishermen also added that consumers should take advantage of the opportunity to buy fish at reasonable prices in the final days of the season.
