Leaders gathered in Budapest for the European Political Community Summit.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with numerous leaders during the event.
Initially, Erdogan met with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides.
A spokesperson of the Republic of Cyprus mentioned that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was also present at the meeting, and later Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama joined them. Authorities in Athens stated that discussions focused on the US presidential elections and international developments.
The President also met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. According to a statement from the Presidential Communications Directorate, the meeting addressed Turkey-EU relations and Israel’s attacks on Palestine.
Erdogan also met with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, focusing on the issues on NATO’s agenda.
