In Thailand, the Songkran Festival, held every year in April, is about to begin. Known as “Songkran” in Thailand, the three-day water festival sees Thai people and tourists engaging in water battles with water guns. Tourism officials in Thailand are expecting this year’s festival to generate approximately $780 million in revenue, with an estimated 470,000 international tourists and 4.4 million domestic trips. The festival, added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2023, will take place from April 12 to April 16.
