The United States continues to provide military support to Israel.

The Israel Ministry of Defense revealed the signing of a deal to purchase 25 advanced US-made F-15 aircraft worth $5.2 billion.

In a statement from the ministry, it was mentioned, “The Ministry of Defense signed a major deal last night for the acquisition of 25 next-generation F-15 aircraft produced by American Boeing company.”

It was specified that the transaction totaling approximately $5.2 billion will be funded through American assistance funds.

The statement also indicated that the agreement includes an option for the purchase of an additional 25 aircraft in the future.

The US remains Israel’s largest weapons supplier.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) report, 69% of Israel’s weapons imports in 2023 came from the US.

SIPRI noted the delivery of thousands of guided bombs and missiles from the US to Israel by the end of 2023. F-35 and F-15 warplanes were also sent from the US to Israel in January 2024. Additionally, Israel hosts a large US weapons depot established to provide its military with prepositioned materiel in the event of regional conflicts and to ensure rapid access to arms in emergencies.
