Plane Crash Again in the USA: Small Plane Takes Off with Open Door, Crashes into Parking Lot

2 Mins Read

In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a small plane with an open door crashed into a suburban parking lot during takeoff, bursting into flames. According to officials, the plane had taken off as planned on Sunday afternoon but immediately wanted to return due to the door being open. Information from air traffic control records indicated that the pilot requested to return for an emergency landing, but experienced communication issues due to wind noise caused by the open door. One of the air traffic controllers reported the situation with the words, “Pull back… the plane fell to the ground in the wooded area of the parking lot right behind the terminal.” Several cars in the parking lot caught fire as a result of the plane crash, leading to a major fire. Emergency medical teams, ambulances, and firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene. Authorities reported multiple injuries in the crash, with some victims undergoing treatment for burns. Footage from the scene showed the aircraft, believed to be a Beechcraft A36TC, starting to burn alongside the parked cars in the parking lot.

After the plane crashed to the ground, thick black smoke began to rise. The parking lot where the accident occurred was only two blocks away from the airport and served a retirement home. Officials stated that clear information about the number of people on board the aircraft had not yet been confirmed. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
