Several European countries, including the Netherlands, have banned the use of phones in primary, middle, and high schools. In Austria, a new regulation will come into effect on May 1st, prohibiting the use of mobile phones in primary and middle schools. It has been announced that the use of digital devices such as cell phones and smart watches will not be allowed in primary and middle schools in Austria as of May 1st. The ban on cell phone use, which has been debated in Austria for a long time and initially implemented at the state level, will be applicable throughout Austria starting from May 1st. According to the regulation, students will not be allowed to use digital devices while at school. Authorities have stated that educators may temporarily confiscate phones from students who do not comply with the regulation. In case of repeated violations, confiscated cell phones will only be returned to parents.
