2 Mins Read

Following Israel’s air strikes, statements continue to come from Iran. Iranian President Masoud Pezeşkiyan stated, “Tehran does not want war but will respond appropriately to Israeli attacks.”

Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Iranian President Masoud Pezeşkiyan addressed the retaliatory strike by Israel on Iran’s military bases.

Pezeşkiyan emphasized that Iran has never left attacks aiming at its sovereignty unanswered. He stated, “Our people and the Islamic Republic of Iran have proven over 45 years that they do not retreat in the face of any invasion or attack. We are not seeking war but we will defend our country and people. We will respond appropriately to the Zionist regime’s attack.” He said. “WE KNOW THAT THE US HAS PROVOKED ISRAEL FOR THIS GREAT DISASTER”

Highlighting that Israel is supported by Western countries, especially the US, Pezeşkiyan warned that if Israel continues its attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, tension could spread throughout the region.

Pezeşkiyan said, “We know that the US has provoked Israel for this great disaster. They promised to end the war if we remain calm, but they did not keep their promise.”

Pezeşkiyan added, “The world sees that while the US, the biggest supporter of the occupying regime, talks about human rights and freedoms, it remains silent in the face of the Zionist regime killing thousands of women and children.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei also said that Israel’s attack should not be underestimated or exaggerated and stated, “Officials should decide how Iran’s power can best be displayed.”

ISRAEL’S RETALIATORY STRIKE
The Israeli military carried out targeted attacks on military areas in Iran on October 26 in response to Iran’s missile attacks on October 1. According to Iranian media, numerous explosions occurred in Tehran and Kerec. Iran, prepared to respond and give a proportional response, announced that four soldiers died. According to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency, a civilian named Allahverdi Rahimpur also lost his life in the attack. Simultaneous explosions also occurred in Syria’s capital Damascus and Homs.
