Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş stated that they have deposited a total of 5.4 billion liras into accounts this month to provide economic support to fully dependent citizens and their families who are cared for at home. Göktaş highlighted that the Home Care Assistance Program, which is one of the most important family-oriented care service models provided by the ministry, was initiated in 2006 with the idea of primarily supporting disabled individuals within their families. Göktaş emphasized, “We prioritize the care of disabled citizens to be carried out at home in a way that preserves their family unity. With Home Care Assistance, we support the preservation and strengthening of family unity by allowing disabled individuals to live with their families or loved ones without having to leave their living environment.” Göktaş highlighted that by supporting those who take care of their fully dependent relatives with Home Care Assistance, the integrity of families is maintained, stating that an average of 543,000 citizens benefit from Home Care Assistance monthly, and a monthly payment of 10,125 liras is made per eligible person.
