The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the application process for passenger rights in air travel has completely digitized. Minister Uraloğlu revealed the implementation of a new service in aviation. He mentioned that with the Passenger Rights Module integrated into the KDM-ERP system, passenger complaints and requests will be managed from a single point in a fully digital manner. Bringing together airlines, citizens, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in the digital realm, Minister Uraloğlu stated, “Passengers will no longer have to submit their requests first to the airline and then to the authority. They will be able to initiate the process with just one click.” Expressing that applications made through the KDM-ERP system will initially be evaluated by the airline, Uraloğlu stated, “In cases where the passenger and the airline cannot agree, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation will be directly involved in the process.” Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that under the system, application processes will gain speed and applications will be concluded much faster, stating, “The era of physical documents and emails has ended. Passengers will conduct all their requests and complaints only online through the KDM-ERP system.” Uraloğlu emphasized that the KDM-ERP system will not only cover passenger rights applications but all processes related to aviation, saying, “With the system, no area in aviation will be left unmonitored or untraceable. Process management will become centralized across the entire aviation sector. There will be no untraceable areas in civil aviation.” Reminding that the number of passenger applications reaching the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in 2024 was around 18 thousand, Uraloğlu expects this number to increase to 1 million with the new system. He explained, “Because now, applications directly going to the airline will also be conducted through this platform. The inclusivity of the system is much broader.” Highlighting that similar online application systems exist in European Union countries, Uraloğlu pointed out that the structure established by Turkey is more comprehensive, stating, “Bringing together passengers, airlines, and authorities in a single system, we have set an example of digitalization in passenger rights.”
