Representatives from the international business world will gather in Istanbul. The World Chambers Federation’s (WCF) Europe and Asia Summit, with the participation of over 800 business people from 62 countries, will begin tomorrow in Istanbul. Opening speeches will be delivered by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, WCF and TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) President Philippe Varin, and ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton. The summit, themed “Collaborative Approach for Climate Change,” will address climate change regulations, technological innovations, and the new competitive conditions introduced. Hisarcıklıoğlu of TOBB shared on social media, announcing a meeting with ICC Secretary General Denton and his team to review the three-day program. Climate change discussions at the World Chambers Federation’s Europe and Asia Summit will offer chambers, as representatives of the business world globally, the opportunity to finalize their views on climate change ahead of the B20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro on October 24 and the COP29 Summit starting in Baku on November 11. The meeting will cover topics such as a roadmap to net zero emissions, climate technologies and innovation, and climate change finance. Additionally, the inaugural summit of the Women’s Network, established within the World Chambers Federation, will take place. Panels with titles such as “Advancing Global Collaboration for Accelerating the Transition to Net Zero,” “The Role of Chambers in Sustaining Global Economic Transformation and Change,” “Utilizing Technology and Circular Economy for Sustainable Development,” and “Enhancing Climate Finance and Decarbonizing Supply Chains” are scheduled for discussion. It is expected that the WCF Women’s Council Meeting, focusing on the challenges and opportunities faced by women in leadership roles within chambers, will be held as part of the event. Social activities showcasing Turkey will also be included in the summit program.
