Officialization of Birth Aid! Mother Who Applies Will Receive 5,000 TL Child Benefit for 60 Months

2 Mins Read

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with President Erdoğan’s signature, birth aid will be provided for children born this year and onwards if an application is made.

Birth aid, valid for children born within the scope of the 2025 Family Year, aims to increase the declining young population rate in Turkey.

To encourage the birth of children born on or after January 1, 2025, birth aid will be provided. A one-time payment of 5,000 TL will be given for the first child, 1,500 TL per month until the child reaches 5 years of age (including the sixtieth month) for the second child upon application, and 5,000 TL per month until the child turns 5 years old (including the sixtieth month) for the third and subsequent children when an application is made.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will have the authority to increase the amounts. Payments will be made from the Social Aid and Solidarity Promotion Fund. Birth aid will be paid without any taxes or deductions and cannot be subject to seizure. In case of unfounded payments due to false declarations from those benefiting from birth aid, the repayments will be calculated with interest at the delay rate specified in Article 51 of Law No. 6183 taking into account the period from the date of payment to the date of collection within one month, and will be notified by the institution making the payment to the unjustly benefited individual in writing. If payment is not made within this period, these receivables will be reported to the relevant tax office for follow-up and collection in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Law.

HOW TO APPLY FOR BIRTH AID? Birth Aid applications are made in person, by registered mail, or by cargo at the relevant Population Directorate after the child’s registration process in the Identity Sharing System (KPS) following a live birth, and after the “Birth Aid Application Form” is completed and signed in full. Applications are made to Family and Social Services Provincial Directorates or Social Service Centers. Regardless of status (including those employed through service procurement), personnel employed by public institutions apply to the institution where they work. Applications of those residing abroad are accepted by Embassies and Consulates. If those residing abroad are in Turkey, they can also apply to any Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate or Social Services Center.
