In Turkey, the number of wage earners increased by 1.1 percent in February compared to the same month last year, reaching 15,293,843 people. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published wage earner statistics for the February period. According to the data, the total number of wage earners in the industry, construction, and trade-service sectors, which was 15,125,704 in February 2024, increased by 1.1 percent to 15,293,843 people in the same period this year. In that month, the number of wage earners decreased by 2.2 percent in the industrial sector on an annual basis, while it increased by 2 percent in the construction sector and by 2.9 percent in the trade-service sector. It was determined that the total number of wage earners in the industry, construction, and trade-service sectors decreased by 0.1 percent in February compared to the previous month. During this period, the number of wage earners decreased by 0.4 percent in the industrial sector, by 0.7 percent in the construction sector, while it increased by 0.1 percent in the trade-service sector.
