The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Uraloğlu, announced that 30,457,920 passengers traveled by air in two months. Evaluating the airway aircraft, passenger, and cargo data for February by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu indicated that the number of aircraft taking off and landing at eco-friendly airports was 58,345 for domestic flights and 50,397 for international flights, resulting in a total aircraft traffic of 148,633 including overflights. Uraloğlu stated that in February, there were 6,435,916 domestic flight passengers and 7,792,684 international flight passengers, totaling 14,234,345 passengers traveling by air that month, including direct transit passengers. The cargo transported in that month was 60,072 tons for domestic flights and 269,067 tons for international flights, reaching a total of 329,139 tons carried.
During the January-February period, the number of aircraft taking off and landing at airports was 130,862 for domestic flights and 108,690 for international flights, reaching a total of 323,986 aircraft traffic including overflights. Uraloğlu highlighted that the total number of passengers served in this period was 30,457,920, with 13,977,241 domestic flight passengers and 16,469,602 international flight passengers. The cargo traffic at airports was 128,885 tons for domestic flights and 565,843 tons for international flights, reaching a total of 694,727 tons.
ISTANBUL AIRPORT SERVED 5.7 MILLION PASSENGERS
Uraloğlu reported that the number of aircraft at Istanbul Airport in February was 36,824, with 7,615 domestic flights and 29,209 international flights, serving a total of 5,692,025 passengers, with 1,085,129 domestic and 4,606,896 international passengers. He also mentioned that during the January-February period, there were 79,745 aircraft at the Istanbul Airport, with 16,618 domestic and 63,127 international flights, resulting in a total of 12,126,595 passenger traffic.
At Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Uraloğlu noted that the passenger traffic was 3,222,336, with 1,283,770 domestic and 1,938,566 international passengers, as well as 18,259 aircraft, including 7,181 for domestic and 11,078 for international flights. He stressed that 6,889,838 passengers were served during the two-month period, with 16,283 domestic and 23,700 international flights at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Uraloğlu also mentioned that the air traffic at Istanbul Atatürk Airport was 1,901 for that month and 4,182 for the two months.
TOURISM CENTERS APPROACHED 4 MILLION
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the number of passengers served in the tourism airports was 3,950,528 in two months, with 2,416,704 domestic and 1,533,824 international passengers. He also noted that there were 32,389 flights, with 21,042 domestic and 11,347 international flights. During the two-month period, services were provided to 1,590,906 passengers at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 1,948,453 passengers at Antalya Airport, and 151,588 passengers at Muğla Dalaman Airport. Additionally, Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport served 188,569 passengers, and there were 71,012 passengers at Gazipaşa Alanya Airport.
