A fire broke out at a nuclear power plant in Taiwan. Authorities announced that there was no radiation leakage in the area.
The fire at the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant in Pingtung, Taiwan, occurred in the cooling units, as stated by officials at 11:30 local time, with no threat posed. Firefighters who arrived at the scene quickly intervened and managed to bring the fire under control in about 10 minutes. In a written statement by the operator of the plant, it was reported that there was no radiation leakage at the plant after the fire and that operations were continuing safely.
