The Israeli army, continuing its attacks on Lebanon, does not let go of the Gaza Strip on the brink of destruction. The north of the Strip has been under siege and attack for five days. Israel, calling for evacuation of hospitals, also prevents the entry of basic living materials to the north. The international community continues to monitor the events in Gaza. (News: Derya Doğan)The recent targets of the Israeli army are the north of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces, continuing ground attacks on the Jabaliya Refugee Camp for five days, are trying to forcibly displace Palestinians in the region.
There are also intense attacks in the Beit Hanun and Beit Lahia areas in the north. The Palestinian Civil Defense stated that the Israeli army is implementing a “complete siege” in the north, isolating the area from the city of Gaza and its surroundings.
Spokesperson Mahmud Bassal told AA that the siege extends from the Tuffah region in the west to the Salah ad-Din Street in the east.
Bassal stated that even though there are no Israeli army ground vehicles, armed drones shoot at anything moving in these areas.
Furthermore, it was added that Israeli forces targeted most of the roads leading from the north to the south, making it almost impossible to use these roads for passage. The call for the evacuation of hospitals has already brought the mostly collapsed health system into a new crisis.
It was reported that Israel demanded the evacuation of patients and health personnel from the Kamal Adwan Hospital, Indonesia Hospital, and Al-Awda Hospital.
Otherwise, it was threatened that if the threat of evacuation was not complied with, the destruction, killing, and detention actions like at Shifa Hospital would be taken. The Palestinian Authority stated, “We categorically reject the threat of the occupying aggressor to evacuate hospitals.”
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) expressed deep concern about the forced displacement decisions in the north of Gaza, including the evacuation and closure of hospitals in Israel.
MAP’s advocacy and campaigns director Rohan Talbot said, “The actions of the Israeli army in the north of Gaza are systematically undermining what is left of the health system and eliminating the conditions needed for Palestinians’ survival.”
Talbot said that despite the International Court of Justice calls to prevent genocide in Gaza, the international community’s “dreadful failure” to take action and implement a ceasefire allowed Israel to increase its deadly attacks.
He added, “The world must act before Gaza is completely wiped out.” It is also noted that Israel is preventing the entry of basic living materials into the north of Gaza.
The Gaza Civil Defense warns that Palestinians in the region may run out of water and food.
The lack of fuel, equipment, and machinery makes it very difficult for civil defense teams to work.
This situation may result in the complete cessation of limited services. Muhammad El Tanani, a cameraman for Al-Aqsa TV, is another among journalists killed in the Israeli attack.
Tanini was buried yesterday at the El Ahli Arab Hospital in the north of Gaza by his colleagues.
In a statement from Hamas’ press office, the killing of the cameraman was described as a “heinous crime” and it was stated that the Israeli army was “fully responsible”.
Al Jazeera yesterday announced that their cameraman Fadi el-Wahidi was injured by Israeli fire in the north of Gaza and became the second Al Jazeera cameraman wounded in an Israeli attack this week.
According to AFP, el-Wahidi was injured in the neck while following Israeli operations in Jabaliya, north of Gaza City.
