There is over a month left until the end of the fishing season at sea. However, due to the scarcity of anchovies in the Black Sea, most boats called it a day early. The fishing ban at sea will begin on April 15th. Nevertheless, the boats have anchored at the port. Many fishermen from the Black Sea region have closed the season early. Fishermen, indicating that there are no fish in the sea, mention that they are closing due to expenses not being covered. In recent times, it is pointed out that anchovies and horse mackerels are running low in the sea. The season was bountiful for fishermen this year with plenty of mackerel, but the anchovy catch remained weak. Fishermen emphasize that the season was abundant in terms of mackerel and anchovies. They have started to maintain their boats for the upcoming fishing season and are also repairing their nets.
