Due to the Israeli army repeatedly blocking fuel deliveries and issuing a comprehensive evacuation order in quick succession, the Kemal Advan Hospital in the north of Gaza is facing disastrous conditions. According to health officials, the next few hours will be “critical and decisive” for the lives of many children. Hospital authorities have appealed to the international community, urging them to “save us before it’s too late.” Yesterday, it was reported that hospitals in the Gaza Strip were at risk of going offline in less than 24 hours. The Kemal Advan Hospital in the north of Gaza is facing “disastrous” conditions due to the Israeli army blocking fuel supplies. According to officials, the next few hours will be “critical and decisive” for the lives of many children. Jordanian doctor Ammar el-Hmood, working at the Kemal Advan Hospital, made a plea on social media saying, “Save us before it’s too late.” In a video statement, he highlighted the critical conditions of children trapped in the hospital, begging, “Save us before it’s too late.” Mentioning that many hospitals in the Gaza Strip have stopped operations, the Jordanian doctor emphasized that evacuating patients is difficult due to the dire conditions families are facing. Dr. Husam Abu Safia, the Director of the Kemal Advan Hospital, called on the international community to intervene and prevent the occupiers from carrying out the decision to completely evacuate the hospital. Abu Safia reported that they are treating extremely severe cases of children with shrapnel in their bodies and all are connected to ventilators. Yesterday, it was reported that the Israeli army prevented fuel trucks from reaching hospitals in northern Gaza five times, putting the hospitals at risk of going offline in less than 24 hours. The Gaza government’s Media Office stated, “The Israeli occupying army sending back diesel-carrying trucks to hospitals in northern Gaza, for the fifth time in a row, means that all hospitals and healthcare facilities affiliated with the Ministry of Health will go offline in less than 24 hours.” The Israeli army blocking fuel trucks was described as a “full-fledged crime” aimed at destroying the hospital and healthcare system in northern Gaza. The Gaza government announced that it categorically rejected Israel’s threats to evacuate three hospitals in northern Gaza. A United Nations investigation accused Israel of pursuing a coordinated policy to destroy the healthcare system in Gaza, concluding that it constitutes a crime of genocide against humanity. Former High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay stated yesterday that Israel had launched “deliberate attacks on healthcare workers and facilities” during the ongoing attacks for over a year.
