The number of oil drilling rigs in the US showed no variation this week according to the weekly data released by the oilfield services company Baker Hughes. As of February 28 to March 7, the number of oil drilling rigs in the country remained constant at 486, unchanged from the previous week. Over the past year, there has been a decrease of 18 in the number of oil drilling rigs in the US. On Thursday, Brent crude oil closed at $69.46 per barrel, while on Friday it ended at $70.36 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil closed Friday at $67.04 per barrel. The price of a barrel of WTI crude oil had finished Thursday at $66.36.
