A new era in food is beginning tomorrow. Counterfeit, adulterated, and deceptive foods will be instantly exposed. The new system will commence tomorrow. Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumaklı announced that counterfeit, adulterated, and deceptive foods will now be shared with the public instantly through an electronic platform in the new system. Counterfeit, adulterated, and deceptive foods will be featured on the reliablefood.agricultureforest.gov.tr website. The new system will be available starting from 09:00 tomorrow. Yumaklı stated that counterfeit, adulterated, and deceptive foods are managed by the ministry through a 6-stage bureaucratic process. Yumaklı expressed that the 6-stage process takes a long time, adding, “In the new system, instead of lengthy bureaucratic processes, results will be entered into the system more quickly. Instead of accumulating and publishing a list in bulk at unspecified intervals, the results will be immediately included in this system once they are known.” THE NEW SYSTEM WILL OPEN TOMORROW The new system will be featured on the reliablefood.agricultureforest.gov.tr website. When the Food Public Announcement tab is clicked, announcements will be displayed under two categories: ‘Foods Endangering Health’ and ‘Foods Subjected to Counterfeiting and Adulteration.’ When the system first opens, brands and companies that have been the subject of food public announcement since January 1st will be included. As of tomorrow, each new result will be added to the internet site as a separate line. A list covering the period between March 2022 and January 1, 2024, related to the old system, will also be published tomorrow as a single list.
