OpenAI is planning to release the new artificial intelligence model Orion in December. Initially, Orion will only be shared with selected companies and is expected to be potentially 100 times more powerful than GPT-4. The developer of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, OpenAI, plans to release the new artificial intelligence model Orion by December. In contrast to the release of OpenAI’s recent models, GPT-4o and o1, Orion is not expected to reach a wide audience initially through ChatGPT. The company aims to provide access primarily to closely working companies so that they can improve their own products and features. Engineers at Microsoft indicate that Orion is being prepared to be hosted on Azure as early as November. Orion is seen as one of the successors to GPT-4 within OpenAI, but it is still unclear whether the company will externally name this model as GPT-5. OpenAI executives describe Orion as potentially 100 times more powerful than GPT-4.
