New Era Begins for Second-Hand Vehicle and Real Estate Listings

2 Mins Read

The electronic advertisement verification system introduced for both real estate and vehicle listings is set to come into effect starting today.

The Ministry of Trade had launched the electronic advertisement verification system in February. The regulation mandated that car dealers must obtain an authorization certificate to post listings, and they were given a two-month period until April 1st to obtain these certificates.

TWO-MONTH TRANSITIONAL PERIOD ENDS

The two-month transitional period has come to an end. A new era begins for vehicle listings. The requirement for an authorization certificate for car dealers will only apply to vehicles of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years starting from April. The requirement will be enforced for all vehicle listings from June 2nd onwards.

SALES THROUGH ADVERTISEMENT SITES WILL BE PROHIBITED

An authorization certificate is not required for individuals who want to sell their vehicles themselves. The sale of a vehicle can also be conducted by first and second-degree relatives of the vehicle owner. Anyone else will not be able to sell the vehicle through advertisement sites. The electronic advertisement verification system had come into effect not only for vehicles but also for real estate listings. The system, which became mandatory for rental listings on January 1st, will also apply to sale listings starting from April 7th. From this date onwards, only individuals authorized by property owners through e-Government will be able to post sale listings.
