Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson Eliezer Feldstein and advisor Jonathan Urich have been arrested as part of the Katargate investigation.
The arrest came after it was revealed that Israeli businessman Gil Bilger had transferred money from a US citizen employed by Qatar to Netanyahu’s spokesperson Eliezer Feldstein. Feldstein and Urich, arrested in the context of the Katargate investigation, are also accused of “contacting a foreign agent” and “money laundering.” Urich, who was questioned two weeks ago in connection with the investigation, was taken from his home and arrested. Meanwhile, Feldstein, who was placed under house arrest in relation to “leaking confidential documents,” had his house arrest extended. In addition, it was reported that a media member suspected of brokering between Feldstein and Bilger has been detained for questioning. Prime Minister Netanyahu, upon the approval of Chief Prosecutor Gali Baharav-Miara, has been summoned for questioning. He was given the option to provide a statement today or another day, and he opted to give a statement today.
